Description
The Philips BrightView XCT is a hybrid Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography/Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT) system designed for nuclear medicine, featuring a compact footprint and high-resolution, low-dose CT imaging capabilities, combining a 3/4-inch crystal gamma camera with a flat-panel cone-beam CT for attenuation correction and anatomical localization. It features a 205 kg (450 lbs) patient weight limit, 91.4 cm gantry aperture, and 12-second CT rotation. The system is designed for high-resolution imaging with 1 mm isotropic voxels.
Gantry and Physical Specifications
- Dimensions: 210 cm (H) x 212 cm (W) x 97 cm (D).
- Weight (without collimators): 2045 kg (4500 lb).
- Gantry Aperture: 36" (91.4 cm).
- Caudal-cephalic tilt: ± 15°.
- Minimum Room Size: Can fit into a room as small as 15' 6" x 12' (4.72 x 3.66 M), often without requiring special floor reinforcement.
- Power Requirements: 480 VAC, 50A, three phase.
Patient Table
- Weight Capacity: 500 lb (227 kg).
- Dimensions: 243 cm (L) x 47.5 cm (W).
- Material: Carbon fiber pallet.
- Height (from floor): 26" to 40" (66.0 cm – 102.8 cm).
SPECT & CT Performance
- Detector Geometry: Dual-head variable angle.
- Detector Material: Sodium Iodide (NaI) crystal, typically 9.5 mm (0.375") thick.
- CT Technology: Utilizes a flat-panel X-ray detector for cone-beam CT (CBCT).
- CT Slice Thickness: Achieves high-resolution CT images with slices as thin as 0.33 mm.
- CT Dose Level: Low-dose CT, with typical attenuation correction dose of < 1 mGy CTDIVOL.
- Co-planar Imaging: Features a CoPlanar FP design, allowing SPECT and CT acquisitions without table indexing between many scans, which improves registration confidence.
- Image Reconstruction: Uses Astonish reconstruction technologies (an option) to potentially cut acquisition time in half.
Operation and Workflow Features
- Body Contouring: Includes BodyGuard automatic contouring technology to position detectors optimally to the patient's body.
- Breathing Protocols: Supports flexible protocols that allow patients to breathe normally during both SPECT and CT for attenuation correction, enhancing patient comfort.
- User Interface: Compatible with the Philips NM Application Suite and Extended Brilliance Workspace for streamlined review and analysis.
